Over a week ago I experienced one of the most exciting weekends of my life! I traveled to Dallas to attend my first big girl conference, by myself, not knowing absolutely anyone (I tend to be a shy person and this was a big jump that I had never taken before) and it was amazing! Create & Cultivate is a blog and conference aiming to inspire by bringing creative individuals who are ready to learn about entrepreneurs, fashion, blogging, etc. I met lots of wonderful and inspiring women from New York, Boston, LA, everywhere! On Friday there was a little cocktail event by downtown Dallas and I decided to put together a cute, girly look that expressed my style (look 1), pairing stripes with colorful accessories is one of my favorites!
The conference was all day Saturday so I made sure to wear something comfortable that still made me feel sassy and classy, the skirt from Target (look 2) is so comfortable and the flower print is gorgeous! I decided to pair it up with a plain button down shirt to dress it up a bit but not too much. The Kate spade bag added a nice touch of pink, which is always a great idea! One of the highlights of the day was getting to meet Julia Engel of Gal Meets Glam, one of my favorite fashion bloggers! If you can’t tell from the picture above, I was super stoked! She commented on my Kate Spade phone case and said it was cute while my friend was taking the picture ( if you can’t tell from my face, I was super ecstatic)
Finally on Sunday I decided to wear something comfortable for the ride back home. Before Austin and I left we had breakfast with my brother, took my dog Booboo on a walk at the dog park, went shopping at the Galleria mall, and stopped by to get cupcakes at Sprinkles (because I have made it a rule that every time I visit my brother in Dallas I HAVE to go to Sprinkles! Cause why not?! :)). The flannel button down was perfect for the 4 hour drive back home and the skinny jeans from American Eagle are stretchy (my fave!) making traveling feel easier and a little more relaxing. And the Tory Burch boots, well I mean they are simply my favorite!
What I learned from this trip was that it is important to take once in a lifetime opportunities that will help me grow and learn in order to make my dreams come true. Also, business cards are VERY important when networking! I am definitely putting that on my to-do list very soon haha!
Hope you all enjoyed this special post, have you ever made any decisions that made you step outside of your comfort zone but was definitely worth it at the end? Have you been to a conference similar to this one? Leave a comment below! As always, I love hearing from you all! Stay fabulous!
